Orbit is an advanced Float Tank System designed for both the operator and the user. A combination of its solution processing unit and the storage tanks enables the Orbit to be autonomously filled and emptied at command controlled completely by its easy to use software.

Fills & Empties

Every customer is safe in the knowledge that ALL the solution has been cleaned and filtered before they start their float session.

Total Solution Processing

Every time the Orbit is filled and emptied the solution pumped through an advanced filtration system and a photocatalytic sterilizing unit. It is stored in two food-grade reservoir tanks where it is maintained at a constant temperature and refiltered and sterilized regularly even if the Orbit is not being used.

The system also includes programmable dosing of a low concentration Hydrogen Peroxide providing every user with a clean, crystal clear solution every time.

Ease of Entry

The ultra-wide power-assisted entry door makes opening and closing totally effortless. Molded handrails and patented non-slip surfaces allow the user to step over the low threshold into the Orbit pod with total confidence. Soft efficient LED lighting and surround speakers enhance and provide a warming atmosphere

User Friendly Software

The ORBIT control software has been designed and tested to be easy to use with a minimum of training. The touch screen control panel allows easy selection of the float times, music, lighting, and other features from drop-down menus.

It allows for easy monitoring and display of parameters such as the temperature of the solution, the length of the float, and time remaining as well as other user selections.

With the objective of simplifying the day to day running and maintenance of your orbit, it allows you more time to spend with your customers.

Centralized Dosing

Centralized dosing allows dose the Orbit with the click of a button in at reception as well as being able to set up regular dosing schedules. Orbit’s high specification dosing pump allows variable dosing of disinfectant such as H2O2 (also see Smart Dosing)

Room Light Control

Room lights can be switched off by just closing the door of the Orbit at the start of the floatation session and switching them back on as soon as the door is opened. This eliminates the need for unreliable motion sensors.

Night Mode

The Orbit system can be set to go to sleep (Standby) when not in use such as at night or during holiday periods. This reduces energy consumption and reduces heating loss etc.

High-Quality Audio

High-quality sound is delivered via special units built into the structure of the base so the whole Orbit acts as the speakers. This provides clear, vibrant and alive audio provides users with an enjoyable and relaxing experience.

Programmable Lighting

The specially designed Orbit LED internal lighting units provide atmospheric conditions, many of which are inspired by Nature can be programmed to offer users the best way to relax and ease into their float.

1 Micron Filters

Orbits solution is passed through 1 micron (1/75th of a human hair) absolute filters between each and every float. Removing even the smallest of skin particles and pollutants and maintaining crystal clear solution every time.

PhotoCatalytic UV

The Orbit incorporates the latest in Photocatalytic UV sanitizers. The high output UV bulb generates high quantities of free radicals. A safe and environmentally friendly way to efficiently disinfect and clean the solution

Reduced Heat Loss

When not needed for a float the solution is stored in closed reservoir tanks. This reduces heat loss is and humidity significantly compared to conventional float tanks, saving both energy and money

Passive Ventilation

The external storage of the solution and the built-in passive ventilation allows airflow through the Orbit which controls humidity whilst maintaining a pleasant temperature and avoids drafts.

Non-Drip Design

The organically designed shape of the Orbit not only looks good and spacious but it also helps to prevent any condensation build-up so removing the chance of dripping on users and ruining their float.

Easy Clean

The solution is drained from the Orbit between every float session so it is easy to clean the inside surface of the Orbit. No sloshing about in solution, No trying to remove tide marks only to have them reappear.

Centralized Control

Provided as part of the Orbit System a centralised touchscreen PC enables control and monitoring of all the Orbits connected to the system at a location. This makes it more efficient and easier for the operators and management team to provide customers with a great service.

Remote Support

Support from Orbit doesn’t stop once the Orbit System is installed. Being Internet aware the IoT technology enables remote support and management. This allows the monitoring of operation and can help maintain your Orbit at peak performance

Starter Kit

A first-time starter kit is available with every Orbit System which includes everything needed (Salt, Filters, Test Equipment, etc.) to set up, maintain and be able to start running a newly installed Orbit. The aim is to enable customers to be welcomed as quickly as possible.

Humidity Control

The storage of all the solution in separate closed reservoir tanks reduces the level of humidity both in the Orbit and the float room from what is normally seen in conventional Float Tanks installations where the solution remains in the float tank all the time.

Available as an option a specially developed ceramic coating is available for application to the tank surfaces The result a faster cleaning between floats, increasing the number of floats per day.

Salt & pH Monitoring

Additional high-performance sensors monitor the salt concentration and pH in the solution. This reduces the need for manual testing. The results can be displayed and stored by the control software

Auto Logging
(Due late 2021)

An auto logging system is being developed to record information such as disinfectant, salt, pH and other levels, user actions, and the operational status of each Orbit. This allows easier optimizing of the system.


The minimum room size recommended is approximately 4.2m x 4.2m (14’ x 14’). This ensures the chosen installation room is sufficiently big to fit the Orbit pod, together with the pump unit and reservoir tanks also in the float room, and still leave enough space for a shower unit and changing area.

Note: The size of the room can be reduced if the pump unit and reservoir tanks are located outside the float room, ideally in a separate pump and reservoir room. Please contact salesteam@orbit-float.com for more information and guidance.

It is recommended that a floor drain should also be included in the room design, to simplify room sanitization and cleaning. The Orbit pod is also fitted with a separate drain tap, that allows for occasional deep cleaning to be carried out without contaminating the float solution.

Internal Pump Location


Due to the heated solution held within the reservoir tanks, this setup helps to reduce humidity and eliminate the “heavy” atmosphere within the float room. They may need occasional access for maintenance but can be insulated to reduce heat loss further providing added insulation.


The Orbit pump unit stands just 900mm high, 650mm wide, and 800mm deep (36” x 26” x 32”) It is one of the most compact performance integrated, all-in-one pump, heating, and filtration systems on the market today.


Epsom salt float solutions are aggressive and can blow drywall construction, especially if the humidity within the room is high. Metal fittings will corrode if they are not manufactured from the correct recommended material. A wash down tap and drain, in each room, is highly recommended.


Showers in the float room are a must. Ideally, the room layout will allow them to be close to the exit of the Orbit pod. This prevents heavy salt trails and simplifies the cleaning.


Disability access is very important to consider when designing and planning a float center. Ensure there is clear access throughout the building for wheelchairs with all appropriate fixtures and fittings

External Pump Location


Insulation of the reservoir tanks is easier when the tanks are not installed in the float room. This helps reduce energy costs and improves heat recovery times between float sessions, especially within air-conditioned rooms.


Installing an external room allows easier access to the pump unit for service and maintenance. It is also recommended that a small sink be installed in each remote pump room.


The Orbit pump and solution processing unit are fitted with noise-isolating feet, reducing noise and vibrations through the floor. Housing the processing unit in a separate pump and reservoir room can reduce noise transmission even more.


By locating the pump unit outside the float room, it enables maximum noise isolation to be achieved. It can also simplify, and make inspection and maintenance when required to be carried out more easily.


Supply and return pipes will need to be connected to the rear of the Orbit pod, as well as a multiway umbilical cable. This supplies the power and connection control for the lights, music and door mechanism.
